Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Suicide Girls are coming to Montreal! Obvious puns aside, the Internet-famous, or as some would say infamous, alt-punk-geek erotica performers are bringing their Burlesque show to town.
Blackheart Burlesque, which runs one night only in Montreal, tomorrow night at La Tulipe, was conceived by SG Co-founder Missy Suicide. It features some of the top talent from the SG website performing sexy original geeky Burlesque and striptease numbers.
Just what is Geeky Burlesque? Well, it’s set to an original indie music soundtrack and the choreography is inspired by newer and more classic popular culture icons such as Star Wars, Orange is the New Black and A Clockwork Orange. If that sounds like a perfect match for Montreal, with its healthy appetite for Burlesque and love of the campy and creative, well, it is.
If this sounds like a damn hot show, it’s that, too. The show has already toured around the world and played at music festivals and sold-out shows, opening for the likes of Courtney Love and Guns n’ Roses. The choreographer, Manwe Sauls-Addison, has worked with Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga to name a few.
Yes, this is a huge show, but one where the incredibly sexy performers are not afraid to let their inner geeks, or pretty much anything else for that matter, show. If this doesn’t convince you, then this video surely will:
Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque plays at La Tulipe, Monday, April 20th at 9pm, doors 8pm. Tickets available through Greenland.
