Come down to a Hootenanny!

All week I’ve been telling my friends about this Hootenanny, happening at Mainline theatre this Friday the 13th. For those of you who’ve never been to a hootenanny or don’t know what it is, well… it’s kinda hard to describe, but it’s fun! The evening features a variety of artists, musicians, storytellers and other acts in an intimate setting. Portions of the evening are sit down, while a variety of acts provide entertainment then to end off the evening there is usually a folk or blue grass band that plays while everyone is encouraged to get down & dance. The event is really cool cause you get the opportunity to chat and mingle with all the artists and everyone is super friendly.

Tonight’s line up features:

Kaia Kater is an amazing young banjo player.

Dirt Cheap Winos part of a new wave of great Montreal bands:

Ol’ Savanah set to destroy!

The lovely and talented Brie Neilson

And Hootenanny regular Scotty Dunbar with his new band:

And if that is not enough talent, there will be a Cheap Art table featuring CD’s and artwork from local talent!

Oh & here are some pics of the last Hootenanny taken by Chris Zacchia
