Looking to see some shows this week?

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19

Man Man + Xenia Rubinos @ Cabaret du Mile End

Experimental multi-instrumental duo Man Man released On Oni Pond, their 5th full length release, in September after some time off. The band took the time between this release and 2011’s Life Fantastic to “reboot” and “reconstruct their sound.”

They’ve always had extraordinarily entertaining live performances to go along with their rollicking 50s-influenced rock n’ roll. Expect a party.

FIDLAR @ Il Motore

Skate-influenced garage punk band FIDLAR will make you feel young again, like you have no responsibilities and all there is to do is get drunk and hang out with your dumb friends. Fuck it, dog, life’s a risk.

No Bones @ TBA

Montreal’s No Bones are back from a short European tour and are throwing a party to celebrate the release of their self-titled 7″. This is one of those secret shows punks like to organize so there’s no announcement of the venue. The FB event says the address of the venue is on the tickets, which can be purchased at Sound Central (4486 Coloniale), Cheap Thrills (2044 Metcalfe), or online here.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22

5th Projekt + A Devil’s Din @ Barfly

If you didn’t check out A Devil’s Din last weekend when they played as part of Montreal Psych Fest, here’s your chance. The Montreal band is supporting Toronto’s 5th Projekt for what is sure to be a hauntingly cinematic psychedelic experience.
