The holidays are once again upon us. It’s time for snowy urban vistas (theoretically, at least), seasonal songs, presents and, of course, parties!

But these aren’t just any parties. We may to the beer and wine shindig year round, but this time of year, ‘tis the season for the cocktail party.

Everyone loves going to a holiday cocktail party, but hosting one can be a time-consuming experience. With so much going on in our lives, who has the time to properly prepare to make all those fancy drinks that people love to sip underneath the mistletoe or by the fireplace (or the Netflix burning log channel)?

Fortunately, Bombay Sapphire has you covered. The gin company known for an imaginative approach to drink making have teamed up with Canada’s most imaginative bartender, Robin Kaufman, to create the Holiday Power Hour.

Bombay Sapphire (44)

Together, they developed three gourmet batch cocktail recipes inspired by warm, spicy and festive flavours to allow home bartenders of any level the opportunity to serve-up memorable cocktails in just a few simple steps. These mixes are powered by Bombay Sapphire and Bombay Sapphire East gins, the ultimate holiday spirits. Their versatility and delicate balance of flavours make them the perfect choice for batched gin cocktails

Less prep time means more time for the host, or hosts, to enjoy the party as well. The best part, though, is that these are some tasty recipes, so you don’t have to sacrifice quality for expediency.

Bombay Sapphire challenged us to host our own Holiday Power Hour and supplied us with the ingredients (booze, mixers and inspiration) to do so. We were up for the challenge.

We chose to do this on a Friday evening. Why? Because we were all (or at least most of us were) coming from work. No full Saturday afternoon to get things ready.

It was a real group effort, so the prep work took even less than an hour. Then, it was on to the fun part: the socializing, the drinking, listening to music, refilling, smoke break for some, more drinking. While enjoying our drinks was prominent throughout the evening, the prep work wasn’t.

If you want to up your mixed drink game and cut the prep time, the Bombay Sapphire Holiday Power Hour is your ticket. Just to show you a little of what awaits you, here’s just one of Kaufman’s recipes:
